Our school’s
vision is summed up in the Japanese word “Henshin.”
It means to transform – to go from one body state to a higher state –
like the archetypical mild-mannered person who becomes a superhero.
Our school mascots are, in fact superheroes.
We have them on the walls of our dojo (school) – each represents a
characteristic to strive for: perseverance,
justice, respect, discipline, responsibility, etc.
Just as superheroes transform,
so do we as martial artists.

But “Transformation” is partnered with the Karate America motto, “Might
for Right.” Karate isn’t
about outward signs of strength and dominance, it’s about respect for self
and others, integrity and fairness, gratefulness, perseverance, discipline,
responsibility, and celebrating who you are – and who you will become.
